Our vision

Our vision is for children and young people to have the opportunity to thrive, with access to the right support in the right place and at the right time, so they can fulfil their potential and lead happy, healthy and productive adult lives.

We are working to deliver meaningful change in our culture and practice that leads to improved experiences and outcomes for children and young people with SEND and their families. This change must be driven by their voices.

The Four Cornerstones Approach supports genuine co-production in a way that listens to children, young people and their families and puts them at the centre of support and service development.

We are using this tried and tested approach to underpin our SEND Strategy and embed a new culture which focuses on rebuilding trust and positive relationships.

Our Delivery Plan: Academic year 2024 to 2025

Our strategy will be implemented via our SEND Transformation Programme. This academic year, we have an action plan in place that outlines specific, measurable goals aligned with our four key commitments. It details what we aim to accomplish and the timeline for achieving these objectives.

We’ve set out a clear vision and public commitment to change our culture and practice to improve experiences and outcomes for children and young people and their families in Devon. Our vision will be realised by our strategic commitments, delivered through our SEND Transformation Programme, and all underpinned by The Four Cornerstones.
