Children’s Social Care provides a range of services and support which are accessible to children and their families.
Early help
Early help is the extra support your family can get if you need it. It may be that you want to prevent a problem, or change things for your family before the problem becomes more serious.
It is not a specific service or team, it’s an approach that brings together people from a range of services and teams who will work together with your whole family to help improve the situation for everyone.
Those accessing early help may also access additional targeted services. Please talk to your lead practitioner about the services we provide.

Parent Carers Needs Assessment
Parent Carer Needs Assessment (PCNA) is used to understand how a parent’s caring role affects their wellbeing, feelings and choices about caring.
The PCNA helps us to explore what:
- help is needed to support you as a carer of a child or young person with additional needs or disabilities or both
- additional help and support may be available to you
