Devon Disabled Children’s Service direct payment day next month

Parents and carers of children open to Disabled Children’s Service, have the chance to meet experts in direct payments at a special event next month.

The Devon Disabled Children’s Service Direct Payment Day is being held at The Exeter Community Centre on Friday 17th October.

For parents and carers of disabled children who receive direct payments for social care short breaks as well as their providers. Employed, self employed and enabling services of children in receipt of social care short breaks are all welcome to attend.

Four companies have been invited as guest speakers.

Mark Bates Insurance will share the importance of employer’s liability insurance and the benefits their insurance brings employers and employees.

Independent Living Group will share updates regarding your responsibilities as an employer, the rights of your enablers and how to access advice.

People Places Lives will share a demonstration of how the Devon Wallet works and the changes they have made because of your valuable feedback.

Gradually Fading Support will share their process to track progress towards outcomes that we are adopting and hope providers will join us to pilot.

Refreshments and a free lunch will be provided courtesy of the four companies.
