Devon County Council offer a variety of free activity days, for children and young people with SEND, and their families.
SEND Basecamp Days at Pixies Holt
📍 Location: Pixies Holt Outdoor Learning Centre, Dartmoor (drop-off and pick-up point)
👧 Who’s it for? Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities
👥 Group size: Eight children, supported by two experienced instructors
🌿 The day’s activities will be tailored to suit the needs of the children. Possible options include:
- archery
- bushcraft (including den building and building camp fire with treats)
- moorland exploration
- orienteering
- weaselling
💪 Requirements: Children must be physically mobile and comfortable being in small groups.
📅 Several sessions are available in late July and early August.

SEND Family Fun Days
Join us for a day filled with exciting activities for the whole family, running throughout the day. These events are designed for families with children who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Come along to enjoy fun, laughter, and new experiences in a welcoming and supportive environment. Families can take part in a wide range of activities and opportunities, with something for everyone to enjoy.
The next SEND Family Fun Day takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026, at the Dartmoor Activity Centre. Two sessions are available: 10.00 am – 12 noon, and 12.30 – 3.00 pm.
Two further fund days are planned for August – dates to be confirmed.
