Who is collecting and using your personal data?
Devon County Council (DCC) is collecting and or processing your personal data as a Data Controller under the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and our ICO registration number is Z6475582. This privacy notice concerns the processing of personal data that takes place by the Public Rights of Way Team (Devon Countryside Access Forum).

What information are we processing?
When managing the Devon Countryside Access Forum, we collect the following personal information when you provide it to us:
- Your name.
- Your contact details (postal address, telephone numbers, email address).
- Your bank details.
- Photographs taken during forum activities.
Why are we collecting your personal data?
We may collect your personal data for one or more of the following purposes:
- Volunteering.
- Keeping in contact with you.
- Paying any out-of-pocket expenses, you may incur because of volunteering with the forum.
- Photographs taken during forum activities which may be used in newsletters or in promoting the work of the forum.
The legal basis for us collecting your personal data
The following legislation provides Devon County Council with an official duty to process your personal data.
- Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.
- Local Access Forums Regulations (England) 2007.
On this basis, we rely upon Article 6(1)(e) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) as the lawful grounds to process your personal data.
Where photographs are taken for use in newsletters or promoting the work of the Devon Countryside Access Forum we are reliant on consent as stipulated by Article(6)(1)(e) of the UK GDPR .
Your personal data is not used for direct marketing purposes and is not sold on to any other third parties.
Recipients or categories of recipients that we may share your personal data with
It is not normally necessary for us to share your personal data with anyone or any organisations. If this is requested, consent will always be obtained. For example, an invitation to attend an event as a representative of the forum.
International transfers
Devon County Council does not intend to transfer your personal data to countries outside of the scope of UK data protection laws. If such a transfer should become necessary in the future, we will ensure that adequate safeguards are applied to such transfers, in accordance with our obligations under Chapter V of the UK General Data Protection Regulation.
How long will we hold your personal data?
We will retain your personal data for only as long as is necessary, and in line with our organisation’s record retention schedules.

Under Data Protection Legislation, you have the right to obtain a copy of their personal records held by us, this is called a Subject Access Request (SAR).
