‘Pasture to Plate’ – Tuesday 09 July, 12:00 until 16:30.

The Agri-Events programme in South Hams brings together farmers and industry experts through knowledge exchange workshops to share their experience and explore innovative strategies for increased profits, sustainability and resilience.

Previous events have covered topics including alternative routes to market, soil microbiology, and farm diversification.

James, a farmer from South Devon, shared his experience of attending a recent event: “Networking at these events always offers a new perspective. It encouraged me to continue on the regenerative path.” Rosie, another South Devon farmer, added: “Great insights. It’s an opportunity to chat with local farmers and experts in the field. Come along!”

The next workshop, titled ‘Pasture to Plate,’ is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9th, at the South Devon Food Hub in Totnes. This session will feature speakers from local businesses, including Sharpham Dairy, Exeter University, the Met Office, the NFU, Dayne’s Farm, and more. The discussions will focus on celebrating success, tackling future challenges, and embracing new opportunities.

This will be the the inaugural event at the newly built South Devon Food Hub, organised in collaboration with the Devon Agri-Tech Alliance and the Devon Food Partnership. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the new facilities and meet the current tenants.

“We strive for this collaborative approach, where we run business support projects to benefit our local communities. This workshop is a brilliant opportunity to bring together food and farming. Vital in our rural county of Devon.” – Fakir Osman, Head of Service for Business Support and Innovation, Devon County Council.
