Schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations supporting children can apply for up to £1,500 to improve access to healthy food. Tesco has launched the new Fruit and Veg Grants scheme to replace Tesco Stronger Starts which has now closed.
Fruit and Veg Grants are for initiatives that use nutritious food to help ensure that children and young people have a healthy diet. This could include providing fruit or healthy snacks in school, helping to provide breakfast or holiday clubs, cooking projects or gardening initiatives so that young people can grow their own fruit and vegetables.
The scheme will provide grants of up to £1,500. Every four months, three local good causes will be selected for the blue token customer vote in Tesco stores throughout the UK.
