Sport England has announced that it is currently prioritising support from its Movement Fund for sports facilities and pitches that have been damaged by recent severe weather. Community organisations affected by the impact of recent storms can apply to the Movement Fund to recover quickly.
Funding can be used to help with emergency costs including:
- skip hire to remove sediment and rubbish
- minor electrical works to restore power
- decontamination works or clearing of blocked drains
- cleaning work to get showers and changing rooms back up and running
- securing buildings
If you are applying for emergency relief funding you will still need to adhere to the usual eligibility criteria for the Movement Fund and you will need to provide evidence of damage which is directly attributable to the recent extreme weather, ie. photographs or reports of the damage that has occurred.
