The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) has announced new plans to put community agency, power and control at the heart of its funding. It is committed to investing at least £3 billion of funding to support communities in England by 2030.
The plans include the introduction of three new programmes which will have a total of £275m to support community-led change:
Community Power Fund: £100m over 10 years to help people influence and change the places they live, the services they use, and decisions that affect their lives
Grant Holder Support: £150m to help increase the knowledge, skills and resilience of civil society organisations
You Decide: at least 5% of NLCF funding in England will go towards involving communities in decisions about who and what to fund
NLCF is currently seeking development partners to help shape the new programmes over an initial one-year development phase. The programmes will then launch in Spring 2026.
