Registered charities can apply to the Ironmongers’ Company for funding for projects that provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people to fulfil their potential.
Grants are available for projects that provide educational activities that develop learning, motivation and skills for children and young people under the age of 25 who are disadvantaged. Projects should have clear aims and objectives.
Grants are normally between £500 and £10,000 and the amount requested should cover a significant proportion of the total project costs.
There is also a separate ‘STEM projects’ fund for initiatives that encourage young people to study science subjects at school and go on to pursue STEM-related further education or vocational training, particularly in the area of Materials Science. Note that applications are only accepted from charities – schools cannot apply.
