IP Advance

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has launched a new scheme to support innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with their intellectual property (IP) such as copyright, designs, trademarks and patents. IP Advance provides targeted advice and support to help businesses better understand their IP, develop an IP strategy and, where appropriate, support to implement that strategy.

There are two levels of support:

  1. IP Audit provides £2,250 (including VAT) towards the cost of an IP audit. The business must contribute £750 towards the audit costs.
  2. IP Access provides up to £2,250 (including VAT) for IP professional advice to progress an IP management strategy or implement recommendations from their IP audit. The business must contribute at least 50% of the costs of the services.

The IPO is not delivering this scheme direct to SMEs: you will need to contact Innovate UK Business Growth via their National Enquiry Gateway at contact@innovateukedge.ukri.org for further information and advice.

Focus of fund/fund aims:

SMEs identified as benefitting from specialist support in the management of IP-related matters can be referred to IP Advance for financial support
