The Henry Smith Foundation (formerly the Henry Smith Charity) provides grants through a series of funds that relate to the themes of its strategy:
- Getting started – supporting families to give their young children a strong start
- Building independence – helping young people aged 14 -25 to move into adulthood with confidence, skills and hope
- Safer futures – supporting people to rebuild their lives after abuse, displacement or prison
Funds currently open / opening soon are:
Proud Homes – for organisations supporting young LGBT+ people facing or experiencing homelessness.
Equity in Justice Fund – for organisations supporting young men from minority ethnic groups who are in contact with the criminal justice system
Early Years Parenting Fund – for organisations that improve the development of children most at risk of poor early childhood outcomes. The funding is for organisations working with parents with children aged 0 to 5 from Black, Pakistani, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities and/or living in areas ranked within the most deprived 20% nationally.

Holiday Grants
Schools, youth groups and not-for-profit organisations can also apply to the Henry Smith Foundation for a grant of up to £3,000 towards the costs of recreational trips for disadvantaged children. This could be camping, adventure activities or visits to the seaside.
