Small grants are available to help people with disabilities or limited mobility to take an active part in gardening. The Gardening with Disabilities Trust helps people to continue to garden despite advancing age, illness or disability whether mental or physical.
Grants can be used to purchase plants and equipment such as raised beds, polytunnels, greenhouses, tools, small-scale garden adaptations, plants or shrubs and compost.
Organisations can apply for a maximum of £1,500 and individuals can apply for up to £1,000. The average grant is about £500.
Note that you will need to provide a letter from your doctor or other Health Care Professional indicating your disability and a copy of another official document relating to your disability such as a PIP or a Blue Parking Badge. The trust does not make direct funding awards but will pay builders/suppliers on your behalf.
