There are a number of grant programmes available to support music-making for people of all ages and across all music genres. Several of these are currently open to applications, including:
Arts Council England: Supporting Grassroots Music – grants up to £40,000 for industry professionals, music promoters, festivals, venues and studios with initiatives to support audience and professional development within the music industry
Help Musicians: Fast Track Awards – up to £500 for professional UK musicians to enable them to take advantage of opportunities that can have a lasting, positive impact on their careers
Help Musicians: Next Level Awards – advice and financial support for musicians with a strong track record but lacking the resources to embark on larger and longer-term projects
Metal for Good Grants – for projects and activities that use music as a tool for change and the values of the rock and metal community to help create an equal society
PRS Foundation: Funding for Music Creators – for songwriters, composers, artists, bands, producers and performers who write their own music including the Women Make Music programme and an Open Fund for Music Creators with grants for the development of outstanding music creators of all genres and backgrounds at different stages of their career
PRS Foundation: Hitmaker Fund – for songwriters and producers working in popular music genres to further develop their careers and writing/production with grants of between £5,000 and £10,000
PRS Foundation: PPL Momentum Music Fund – grants to support the development of talented emerging UK musicians and bands
Universal Music UK Sound Foundation – grants for schools and individuals in full-time education for the purchase of musical instruments and equipment as well as grants for one-off music training courses for teachers
Young Sounds UK – grants to help musically-talented young people from lower-income families
Youth Music: NextGen Fund – grants up to £3,000 for young early-stage musicians and young people with aspirations to work in the music industry
Youth Music: Trailblazer Fund – grants of £2,000 to £30,000 to run projects for children and young people (25 or under) to make, learn and earn in music. The next round is opening soon.
