Fight for Sight has launched a new fund to help blind or vision-impaired people to access digital technology and improve their digital skills in order to prepare for work or progress in the workplace. Grants are available for projects that deliver a step-change in people’s ability to know what’s out there, how to access and use it and how to take control of their own digital development.
The funding is for organisations that directly support blind and vision-impaired people or people at risk of losing their sight. You can apply for a grant of up to £30,000 for projects of between 12 and 36 months that address one of more of the following priority areas:
- getting ready for the workplace.
- looking for and applying for jobs
- job retention and progression
- working in technology or digital support
The following types of organisations can apply: UK registered charities; registered CIOs; charitable companies or CICs, limited by guarantee; and exempt charities.
