Exeter Grants Programme

Community groups and organisations in Exeter can apply for funding from the City Council to bring people together and help them make a difference in their community.

The Exeter Grants Programme is for projects that have a focus on one or more of the following priority themes:

  1. Address inequalities
  2. Improve health and wellbeing
  3. Get people active
  4. Support communities working together to address local needs
  5. Encourage volunteering
  6. Improve where we live
  7. Support community-based arts and cultural activities
  8. Promote digital inclusion

There are two separate funds:

Exeter City Grant Fund

Grants up to £2,500 for groups in Exeter’s priority neighbourhoods. These are:

  • Exwick
  • Redhills
  • St Thomas
  • St David’s
  • City Centre
  • Newtown
  • Mincinglake
  • Beacon Heath
  • Whipton
  • Wonford
  • Countess Wear

The funding can be used to help run events, festivals and projects that aim to encourage community participation. This fund can also be used for a one-off purchase or repair of equipment.

Exeter Ward Grants

Community groups throughout Exeter can apply for up to £350 to support a community project, such as a community festival, theatre production or a craft group. You will need to demonstrate that there is community support for your project

Grants to help community organisations in Exeter to connect people and to make a difference in the community

Application deadline:

Exeter City Grants: Round 1 -16 August 2024; Round 2 - 25 October 2024; Round 3 - 10 January 2025. Applications for Exeter Ward Grants may be submitted at any time.
