CLA Charitable Trust

Grants up to £5,000 are available from the CLA Charitable Trust to support the most disadvantaged, and especially disadvantaged young people, to access the benefits of the countryside.

The aims are to:

  • Advance people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing through access, recreational and educational opportunities within and about the countryside
  • Promote and encourage education in sustainable farming, food production and rural land management

Funding can be used for farm visits, horticultural therapy and other gardening projects, forest school activities, conservation work and other initiatives to support the mental and physical wellbeing of disadvantaged people through access to the countryside.

Applications are accepted from registered charities, Community Interest Companies and other not-for-profit organisations that have clear social benefit. Schools exclusively for children with additional needs can also apply.

The priority is to support smaller organisations with a turnover of less than £1.5million.

Grants for projects that help disadvantaged people to improve their wellbeing through access the countryside and learn about the natural environment
