CABWI: Learning & Development

Grants are available for charities working with young people aged 16+ and adults to help them gain additional skills and confidence to enter the labour market. The funding comes from CABWI, the certification and assessment board for the water industries, which makes grants up to £40,000 for projects that:

  1. work directly with young people aged 16+ and adults who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), to improve their access to employment.
  2. work with individuals with complex barriers to employment to gain life skills, qualifications and work experience leading to employment.
  3. have clear and well-established connections to employers who can offer meaningful work experience and/or employment

In 2026, CABWI will be particularly keen to support innovative approaches that highlight new ideas/ways of tackling barriers to training and employment.

Registered charities can apply for grants for core costs and project costs. You can request 15% of your income, up to the £40,000 maximum.
