Back Her Business

A new crowdfunding programme, entitled ‘Back Her Business’ has been launched to help female entrepreneurs. The scheme has been developed as a partnership between NatWest Bank and Crowdfunder to support the set-up of new women-owned or led businesses (whether for profit or not for profit) in the UK. It forms part of NatWest’s wider ambition to reduce the gender gap when it comes to entrepreneurship.

Women in the UK with a new trading activity are eligible to participate. They can be operating as a new partnership, limited company, charity, social enterprise or sole trader. The scheme will help women to raise money for their business through crowdfunding: the bank is offering up to 50% of an individual’s fundraising target (capped at £5,000) for certain successful projects.

Focus of fund/fund aims:

Coaching, mentoring and a top-up grant of up to £5,000 for women running a successful crowdfunding campaign for a new trading activity.
