Apprenticeship Talent Fund

Virgin Media O2 has launched a new £1m Apprenticeship Talent Fund to help smaller organisations recruit and train apprentices in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) roles. The funding is specifically designed to help women and people from global majority backgrounds to enter STEM careers.

Virgin Media O2 is using part of its apprenticeship levy (through the apprenticeship levy transfer) to fund the scheme. The funding can then be used by other organisations that do not pay the apprenticeship levy to cover the training costs of a new STEM apprentice. The funding does not cover the salary of the apprentice.

This opportunity is open to small businesses, charities, social enterprises and local authorities that would like financial support towards the training costs when hiring a woman or a person from a global majority background for a STEM apprenticeship. If you’re interested in accessing funding, the first step is to register an account or sign into the Government portal. Once you have registered and signed up, you can request funds from Virgin Media O2’s Apprenticeship Talent Fund.
