Another Way Women’s Foundation

Grants are available for sustainable, cooperative, community-led initiatives aimed at securing a brighter and fairer future for women and girls by tackling the root causes of gender inequality. Another Way Women’s Foundation provides funding for pilot or start-up initiatives as well as core funding to enable the delivery of services.

There are two grant schemes:

  • Another Way Women’s Foundation grants – up to £5,000 for any type of project, initiative or service aimed at advancing and empowering women, creating positive social change or improving the lives of women and girls.
  • £1,000 for 1,000 words – seed funding to kickstart a project or service aimed at changing women’s lives for the better. Applicants need to supply 1,000 words describing how their idea/project will make a positive difference to women and girls.

Individuals and not-for-profit organisations may apply.

The foundation has announced that, from January 2026, there will be two application windows each year:

  • ​January – general applications supporting women and girls in any area.
  • ​September – specific applications supporting women and girls only in the stated focus area for that year:
    – September 2026 – Sport & Leisure
    – September 2027 – Environment, ‘Eco’ & Sustainability
    – September 2028 – The Arts

Focus of fund/fund aims:

Grants for projects and services that have a positive and sustainable impact on the lives of women and girls

Application deadline:

Apply by 31 January 2026 for a 'general' grant towards activities supporting women and girls. Apply in September 2026 for a 'Sport & Leisure' grant.
