Adult Social Care Training & Development Fund

The government is launching a new Adult Social Care Training and Development Fund. Eligible adult social care (ASC) employers can claim varying levels of reimbursement from this fund, for spend on upskilling the adult social care workforce.

The fund is due to launch in the Summer but, in the meantime, guidance has been issued to allow ASC employers to plan their training and development as claims will be eligible for learning and development started on, or after, 1 April 2024.

ASC employers will be able to apply for reimbursement for:

  • Care Skills Funding
    Including support for individuals in direct care roles to enrol onto the new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate qualification by March 2025.
  • Revalidation Funding
    Contributions to the cost of continuing professional development for revalidation for eligible, registered staff.

Funding will be available for non-regulated members of the adult social care workforce in England, including deputy and Care Quality Commission registered managers and agency staff.
