Defra provides several funding programmes to support the agricultural sector.
Current opportunities include:
Farmer Collaboration Fund – funding for delivery partners to establish and support groups of farmers and land managers to work together, share knowledge, exchange experience and trial new working practices.

Farming Innovation Programme (Small R&D Partnerships) – funding for collaborative research and development that benefits farmers, growers, foresters and related businesses. Projects must have total eligible project costs between £1m and £3m.
Apply by 14 October 2026
Farming in Protected Landscapes – a grant scheme for farmers and land managers in National Parks and National Landscapes (formerly AONBs)
ADOPT (Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies) fund – grants of £50,000 to £100,000 for collaborative farmer-led innovation grants for on-farm trials of new technology
Defra’s overview of the grants available to farmers, growers and land managers covers the range of government support available to the agricultural sector. This includes the funds listed above as well as the Sustainable Farming Incentive, funding to improve animal health and welfare, and grants to create or improve woodland and protect tree health.
