The Veterans’ Foundation provides grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations that provide assistance to serving and former members of the armed forces community, operational qualified seafarers and their immediate families.
There are separate grant schemes, as follows:
Small Grants – grants of £500 to £5,000 to help small, grassroots groups to flourish in the Armed Forces community and to deliver impactful community-based activities
Standard Grants – grants of up to £30,000 for organisations providing direct services to support the Armed Forces community
Salary Grants – grants of up to a maximum of £75,000 are available for the exclusive use of salary costs over a three-year period, with the maximum annual grant being £25,000 for organisations providing direct services to support the Armed Forces community
Major Grants – currently closed
The funding can be used for projects covering a range of aspects of social care for the armed forces community, including but not limited to:
- reducing homelessness
- increasing employment
- tackling financial disadvantage
- disability
- providing welfare and medical support
- mental health
- support for families and children
- assistance during old age
