Clare Milne Trust

The Clare Milne Trust supports people living with disabilities in Devon and Cornwall. Clare Milne was the granddaughter of A.A. Milne, the author and creator of Winnie the Pooh.

The Trust makes grants to small, registered charities that work directly with people who have disabilities and who live in Devon or Cornwall. Projects should benefit people with physical, mental, learning or sensory disabilities.

Grants are awarded for:

  • building projects, including major building projects
  • facilities to assist people with disabilities eg. changing places toilets, hearing loops, stairlifts
  • the provision of facilities to enable participation in activities
  • equipment eg. wheelchairs, sports equipment
  • employment, education and vocational training
  • training events
  • bursary funding including trips, holidays, transport.

The Trust usually makes grants of between £2,500 and £25,000, or, for building projects, £30,000 to £50,000.

Trustees are particularly keen to support applications from well-managed, effective, small, registered charities but will occasionally consider applications from Community Interest Companies and other not-for-profit organisations.
