The University of Exeter is well connected by train, bus, cycling routes, and pedestrian access. As WATER 2026 focuses on climate change, adaptation, and environmental resilience, we encourage delegates to travel by public transport, bike, or on foot where possible.
Getting There
By Train
Exeter has two train stations within easy reach of the conference venue.
Taxis and buses are available outside both stations.
Exeter St Davids
The closest station to the University, approximately a 10-minute walk from Streatham Campus.
Please note that the route to campus is uphill and the walk to The Forum takes a little longer.
Exeter Central
Located in the city centre, Exeter Central Station is also within walking distance of the University.
By Bus
The Stagecoach Route 4 bus provides a direct link between Exeter City Centre, Exeter St Davids Station, and the University campus.
For WATER 2026, alight the bus at North Park Road Bus Stop, which is just a short walk from The Forum building.

By Bike
Cycling is a great way to travel to the conference.

By Car

If you are travelling by car, please follow signs to Car Park C (Visitors Only).
- Car Park C is approximately 200 metres from The Forum entrance
- Additional parking areas are available across the campus and delegates will be directed by event staff on arrival
- Accessible parking spaces are available across campus, including 10 spaces in Car Park C. You can view all accessible parking locations here
- Please be aware that on-campus parking is limited and requires a permit
Parking Permits
A limited number of parking permits will be available for delegates who need to travel by car. Permits will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis on each conference day and can be collected on arrival from the Car Park Information Point in Car Park C.
We recognise that travelling by public transport may not be practical for everyone. However, due to limited on-campus parking, and in keeping with the sustainability values of both the University and the conference, we encourage delegates to use the public transport options detailed above where possible, or to car share if driving is necessary.
Please allow additional time on arrival, as a parking space cannot be guaranteed.
Sustainable Travel
We encourage delegates to support the sustainability goals of WATER 2026 and the University of Exeter by helping to reduce the environmental impact of the conference. Please consider lower-carbon travel options, such as travelling by train, bus, bicycle, or on foot.

Where and when should I register?
Registration will take place just inside the front entrance to The Forum. The registration desk will be clearly signposted, and members of the event team will be available to welcome you and provide directions and help.
Please give your name at the registration desk to collect your conference name badge and lanyard. Badges will be arranged alphabetically by surname to help registration run smoothly.
Registration opens at 8:45am. Please allow enough time to register and find your seat before the welcome talk begins at 9:30am in the Auditorium.
Will the conference be recorded?
Most conference sessions will be recorded. Following the conference, links to the recordings will be made available to delegates and the videos shown in the Media Room will also be shared.
Please note that some workshops, tours, and interactive sessions may not be recorded. We will capture key insights and highlights from these activities in other formats and share them with delegates after the conference.
As well as the recording of conference sessions, there will be general filming and photography taking place throughout the event. When registering at the arrival desk, please tick the box next to your name to indicate that you are happy to be filmed or photographed.
Coloured stickers will be available at the registration desk for anyone who does not wish to appear in photographs or video footage. Please add a sticker to your conference name badge so that your preference is clearly visible to the event team.
Will food and drink be provided at the conference?
There will be a catered lunch, as well as morning and afternoon tea and coffee, on both conference days.
Delegates should have provided details of any allergies or dietary requirements when completing the registration form. However, if you have not yet done so, or if your requirements have changed, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing devonfloodresilience@devon.gov.uk
