The team at Westcountry Rivers Trust have been developing an augmented reality sandbox table, an excellent engagement tool. The table provides a visual representation of a river catchment and allows the user to simulate rainfall, highlight the flooding challenges a community may face. The sand can be moved and objects added to demonstrate the effectiveness of natural flood management in slowing the flow of water and increasing flood resilience. The team are continuing development of the table to improve user access and we hope to see it at many education and engagement events in the future.
