It’s important to seek help as early as possible. Advice organisations can help you understand your options, access financial support and deal with debts before they become unmanageable.

Get emotional support

Money worries can have a significant impact on your mental health and wellbeing. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or unable to cope, support is available.

For 24-hour urgent mental health support, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option. This service is provided by the First Response Service, which supports people experiencing mental health distress or those concerned about someone else’s wellbeing.

If you need someone to talk to, you can also contact Samaritans on 116 123, free, 24 hours a day.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E.
