Transport

Free national bus pass

Bus passes for free travel are available to older people or those with certain disabilities. A pass entitles the holder to free off-peak travel on registered local buses anywhere in England. This is a national scheme and is not part of the Household Support Fund.

£3 bus fare cap

The Government’s cap on bus travel outside of London is now £3. Under the scheme a single bus journey will cost no more than ££ on most routes across England.

Find out more, including participating services, by visiting the government’s £3 bus fare cap page.

Community transport

Community transport is provided by a network of voluntary organisations that help people get to the shops, services, medical appointments or leisure activities where no alternative or suitable transport is available.
