Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional funding that is available to early years providers to support children’s development, learning and care.
EYPP provides extra money to the early years provider for eligible under 5s whose parents are in receipt of a qualifying benefit, are in care to a local authority or who have left care under an adoption, special guardianship or child arrangement order.
If you are eligible, your childcare provider could receive additional funding, up to a maximum of 570 hours per academic year, to improve the quality of the early years education provided for your child. This could include, for example:
- additional training and support for staff working on specialised areas such as speech and language
- Nurture sessions and interventions
- resources to develop and enhance the quality of your child’s education, their interests, experiences and needs.
