    [1] To request this priority, the application must be accompanied by a completed Supplementary Information Form for Exceptional Need which will include evidence, from a medical specialist or social worker of the need and why the child must attend this school rather than any other, based on those needs. If evidence is not submitted to the with the application, exceptional need cannot be considered.

    2. Children of staff who work within Launceston College MAT: -Where a member of staff has been employed by the MAT for two or more years at the time at which the application to the Academy is made; and/or -Where the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
    3. Children for whom Atlantic Academy is their closest school. If there are more children wanting places than there are places available, criteria 4 and 5 below will be used to decide which of these children should have priority for admission.
    4. Children with an unequivocal professional recommendation from a doctor, school medical officer, educational psychologist or education welfare officer that non-placement at the school would not be in the best interest of the child. Such recommendations must be made in writing and must give full supporting reasons and will be reviewed by the admissions authority.
    5. Children with siblings who will still be attending the school at the time of their application.
    6. All other children, with the priority given to those closest to Atlantic Academy.
  • Due to covid19 precautions, schools are not making the usual open day arrangements for this autumn. Parents should contact the school for information about visits or online resources to help in making secondary transfer preferences.
