We’ll be at Exeter Respect Festival in Exeter this weekend!
Please come and find us. We’ll be in the Communities area of Belmont Park, just behind the Newtown Community Centre building, alongside many of the voluntary and community sector groups we work with.
We’ve got various teams from the within the council attending the festival this year.
Our Chair, Cllr Caroline Leaver and Vice Chair, Cllr Rosie Dawson, will be attending and speaking at the opening ceremony.
Learn Devon, our adult education provider, will be promoting their wide range of adult skills courses.
Public Health Devon will providing information on mental wellbeing, oral health (particularly children’s oral health), vaccinations, and advice to help people stop smoking.
Our Migration and Resettlement team will be sharing information about different strands of work that the council does with refugees and migrants.
We’ll be promoting English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes and resources, recruiting ESOL volunteers and handing out copies of the latest version of our Directory of Services for Ethnically Diverse Communities in Devon, Torbay and Plymouth.
And some of the the Ukrainians, Afghans and other refugees we work with will be joining us to help run some interactive Art activities for children/families
