First Cabinet meeting of the New Year to be held next Wednesday

Next Wednesday (14 January) is our first Cabinet meeting of 2026 and included on the agenda are a number of key decisions for councillors to consider.

The cabinet will be asked to consider the route alignment of the Boniface Trail between Crediton and Exeter as well as the Open Procurement Framework for commissioning the delivery of adult skills in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay.

An item about the contract to provide Specialist Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Service for Adults is also up for consideration as is Target Budget and Service Targets for 2026/2027.

Other items include our latest Childcare Sufficiency Assessment , an annual report which reviews whether there are enough high‑quality childcare places to meet the needs of working families in Devon.
