Denham Bridge near Bere Alston is again undergoing an emergency closure after sustaining more damage – just weeks after being repaired following a similar incident.
We’re appealing for information on the latest vehicle to have damaged the structure.
The Grade II Listed bridge is thought to have been struck by a tractor and trailer at around 10:30pm last night (Thursday 18 April), demolishing around three metres of parapet.
As yet it is unknown how long the bridge will need to be closed. Our teams are assessing the damage and liaising with conservation officers.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and is able to provide details of the vehicle is asked to please contact Devon’s Customer Service Centre on 0345 155 1004.
