Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) February 2025


The Learning Disability Partnership Board met on Monday 24th February.

Part one:

There was a presentation by a Team Leader within the council’s Integrated Public Transport Team. She talked through 6 new easy read leaflets she has developed to:

  • make it easier for people to apply for a national bus pass
  • explain what a companion pass is
  • show people how and when they can use their national bus pass

Board members also discussed other leaflets they thought should be developed to aid understanding of timetables and community bus services.

Part two:

A Resource Manager for East talked about the Reaching for Independence Service. He spoke about:

  • the aims of the service
  • who is eligible to receive support from the service
  • how to be referred into the service

AOB (Any other Business):

  • Members of Jargon Busters ( A Learning Disability Co-production Group) shared a film they had made to recruit more people with learning disabilities to the Board
  • There was an update from DPT on The Brook, a unit being built for people with learning disabilities and/or autism who need help with mental health illnesses
