The Devon Learning Disability Partnership Board met on February 5th 2024.
Part one was a Question and Answer session with DPT nurses and the GP Lead from NHS Devon on national screening programmes. Themes explored were the different types of screening, the use of chaperones, reasonable adjustments for members of Trans communities and being able to consent to screening.
Part two was a presentation by a Patient and Stakeholder Engagement Lead from the Practice Plus Group on their Integrated Urgent Care Service. Board members were able to share their experiences of accessing and using 111 and out of hours services.
In AOB there was time for further questions on the mental health unit DPT is building in Dawlish for autistic people and people with learning disabilities. A General Manager from the Learning Disability Service had spoken to members of the Health and Social Care Group and Carers LD Interest Group during January which had been requested at the last Board.
