Stokeinteignhead Primary School: Change of Category from Community to Foundation Trust
Following consultation and completion of the statutory process, the Governing Board of Stokeinteignhead Primary School has approved the proposal to change the school’s legal school category from Community to Foundation and at the same time acquire a Trust known as the United Schools’ Learning Partnership (USLP). This will take effect from 1 February 2023.
The rationale for the change to Foundation status and acquiring a Foundation Trust is that it will allow the school to work closely with a larger group of like minded schools to improve opportunities and standards for all the children. As a smaller school, joining the United Schools’ Learning Partnership will help support the school’s aim of securing sustainable school improvement and widen opportunities for our children by working with a larger number of schools within a long-term formal partnership.
Stokeinteignhead Primary will remain a Local Authority maintained school. However, the Stokeinteignhead Governing Body will become responsible for school admission arrangements as a Foundation School and the Governing Body will legally employ staff rather than the Local Authority.
There are no capital costs.
