Stokeinteignhead Primary School: Change of Category from Community to Foundation Trust
The Governing Board of Stokeinteignhead Primary School is proposing to change the school’s legal school category from community to foundation and at the same time acquire a Trust known as United Schools’ Learning Partnership (USLP).
The Governing Board have been looking at the various options available in terms of the legal status of the school. After research and discussion, they have decided to explore further the co-operative foundation trust model.
Stokeinteignhead Governing Board, at its meeting on 14 July 2022, decided to take this a stage further by agreeing to consult on proposals for Stokeinteignhead Primary School to become a Co-operative Trust school. Further details are available in the link to the Full Consultation Document below.
Responding to the consultation
You can respond to the consultation by emailing the school at the address below.
You can comment on the proposals at any time from 12 September 2022 to noon on 21 October 2022.
After this statutory consultation closes at noon on 21 October 2022, the Governing Board will hold a meeting to review all comments made before deciding whether to proceed further with the proposal and undertake a formal representation period.
If the Governing Board decide to proceed with the proposal then a four week formal representation period will likely commence in November which provides a further opportunity to comment or object to the proposal.
The Stokeinteignhead Governing Board will hold a meeting at the end of the formal representation period in December and
may decide to:
- Adopt the proposals;
- Modify the proposals in the light of suggestions made during the statutory process and if the changes are significant, consult again on the changes;
- Decide not to proceed, with Stokeinteignhead Primary School remaining a Community School;
- Pause the process.
The proposed implementation date for acquiring the Trust is 1 February 2023.
