Devon Partnership Trust – Talkworks Service

Staff members from the Talkworks joined the meeting to share a presentation to AIG members about what services they can offer to patients aged 18+ years. This can include support in areas such us depression, general anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), specific phobias etc.

AIG members were able to ask specific questions to Talkworks around their services, members were offered to send in emails with additional questions if they thought of anymore after the meeting had finished and Talkworks would respond to them within a few weeks.

Devon Adult Autism and ADHD Team 

Vacancies within the team have now been filled so staff capacity is improving and the new team members are settling in well.

With the national reasonable adjustment flag, the team are aware of this and phase one of this is including reasonable adjustments in the patients records which is not limited to mental health services, but is open to GP practices too.

Devon County Council (DCC) Preparing For Adulthood/Transitions 

DCC Project Manager attended the AIG to give an overview on the new SEND Transformation Program which is designed to support young people transitioning into adulthood to make it an easy and successful experience for them. The overview spoke about the the next stage of the project and they will be monitoring progress.

Dimension For Autism (DFA)

DFA members gave an update on upcoming events, including representing themselves at the Respect Festival that is taking place in June 2024.

An DFA community member has bought some land in the woodland which has been designed to give people from the autistic community some rest bite in a relaxing environment.

Living Options Devon – Oliver McGowan Training Update

Training has started to be rolled in locations Exeter, Plymouth and Torbay. The training hasn’t started in North Devon.

AIG members were shown feedback that was given by trainers on their experience, the response has been a mix of positive and negative.

Any Other Business (AOB)

Two AIG members brought protentional topic of discussion at future AIG meetings.
