Fund title: Local Authority Treescapes Fund
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Grants up to £300,000 for top-tier local authorities to work with local partners to plant trees in non-woodland settings
31 May 2021
This fund is aimed at establishing more trees in non-woodland settings such as in riverbanks, hedgerows, parklands, urban areas, beside roads and footpaths, in copses and shelterbelts, including neglected, disused and vacant community spaces.
There is a competitive bidding process for grants of between £50,000 and £300,000. The funding is exclusively for planting or activities relating to natural colonisation of trees outside woodlands (areas of trees below 0.5 ha), and maintenance costs for three years.
Funding will be available to all local authorities, via applications led by top tier authorities. Local authorities are strongly encouraged to work with other organisations, NGOs, community groups and private individuals to deliver tree planting and natural regeneration.
