UK charities that work with communities in the UK can apply for small grants from the Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust. The funding is intended to support those in society who face the greatest challenges and whose opportunities are the most limited.
The Trust focuses on different priorities every year, issuing four separate calls for projects. The next rounds are as follows:
2024 – Rounds 3 & 4
Food Poverty – with a focus on enabling resilience and independence, particularly through food education and/or cooking skills
2025 – Rounds 1 & 2
The Arts: Improving Access – with a focus on performing arts projects that improve audience access and participation
2025 – Rounds 3 & 4
Refugees and Asylum Seekers – details to be advised
UK registered charities or organisations that are exempt from registration in the UK can apply:
If you have an operating income of between £100,000 and £1 million can apply for a grant of £1,000 in Rounds 1 and 3.
If you have an operating income of over £1 million can apply for a grant of £5,000 in Rounds 2 and 4.
Applications will not be accepted from CICs or not-for-profit organisations. The funding cannot be used for capital projects, minibuses or other vehicles.

Charities with an operating income of between £100,000 and £1 million can apply for grants of £1,000 for work to address food poverty.

The next deadline is 31 July 2024 for smaller charities addressing Food Poverty
