UnLtd provides support and small grants for people who are starting up or developing a social enterprise. The support programmes are for ventures that are set up to have a positive impact on people’s lives and communities.
The support is tailored according to whether you are starting a new social enterprise or developing an existing venture:
Starting Up – support and funding up to £8,000 for people who are ready to establish a new social enterprise or have been running for less than a year.
Scaling Up – support and funding up to £18,000 for people who are already running a social venture (for between one and four years) that is making a positive difference and need support to grow the business and increase their impact.
UnLtd has also launched a new initiative to support early-stage social entrepreneurs taking practical action on climate change within their communities:
Community Climate Action – awards of up to £8,000 and support for new social entrepreneurs who are helping people cut their carbon emissions and improve wellbeing, targeting one or more key focus areas: transport; home energy; sustainable food; and reduced waste and consumption.
For all UnLtd schemes, UK residents aged 16 and over can apply. Your social enterprise should benefit people living in the UK and have a real social impact.

Applications for the Starting Up and Scaling Up awards close on 30 November 2026 but is capped at 650 applications and will close beforehand if this limit is reached.
