ADOPT is part of the Farming Innovation Programme (FIP) which provides investment in innovation, research and development to benefit farmers, growers and foresters in England.
ADOPT is for collaborative farmer-led, on-farm trials or experiments to generate, test and demonstrate innovative solutions to farming challenges.
You can apply for an ADOPT grant towards projects with total costs between £50,000 and £200,000 (an increase from the previous maximum of £100,000). Grants can cover up to 80% of eligible project costs, depending on the size of the organisation.
Your project must have the potential to significantly improve one or more of the following:
- productivity
- resilience
- sustainability and progression towards net zero farming
Your proposal must demonstrate to other English farmers, growers or foresters how the idea or solution will be of benefit to them.
Applications must be led by a commercial farming, growing and forestry businesses. There needs to be at least one other farming, growing or forestry business in the partnership. Other types of organisation can also be part of the partnership.
You can also apply for a Facilitator Support Grant (up to £2,500) to get help with developing a full ADOPT application.
