Scops Arts Trust

The aim of the Scops Arts Trust is to help people to understand, participate in and enjoy the arts, particularly the performing arts. It provides support for projects that widen access and have a lasting cultural impact on the community.

This is a small trust with limited funds and so most grants are for less than £5,000 although larger grants are occasionally offered.

The trust chooses a specific focus for each round of funding. The next rounds are:

Early-career artists performance programmes focussing on performance opportunities – for high-quality programmes offering early-career artists opportunities to advance their training and development towards performance.  This includes dance, drama and music.

Children’s and young people’s music education (choirs are excluded) – for programmes that give children and young people opportunities to learn, create, experience and progress. There is a particular interest in applications which concentrate on teaching instrumental playing.

Funds are generally awarded to registered charities although community organisations can sometimes be funded provided that they have clear charitable aims. Grants cannot be awarded to individuals or schools.
