The King Charles III Charitable Fund awards small grants of up to £3,000 a year for up to three years to community-based organisations.
Each year there are three application rounds for the small grants programme, each focusing on different funding themes. Applications open in August for organisations with projects that fit with the Education and Heritage & Conservation themes.
There are six funding themes, as follows:
Social inclusion – promoting social inclusion for vulnerable and marginalised communities through projects that relieve poverty, loneliness and other social issues
Health and wellbeing – improving the health and wellbeing of people and communities, including physical and mental health and support for people with disabilities
Environment – protecting and promoting the natural world, including habitat restoration, species conservation, carbon savings and sequestration and circular economies
Countryside – investing in the economic and environmental future of the countryside, including sustainable and regenerative agriculture and support for rural communities.
Heritage and conservation – preserving historic and culturally important buildings and traditional craftmanship
Education – supporting education, training and employability opportunities for young people and adults
UK registered non-profit organisations with an annual income between £25,000 and £500,000 can apply. Grants are awarded to around 100 organisations each year.
