The Football Foundation has announced new funding to improve football facilities for women and girls involved in grassroots football.
The new fund, the Lionesses HERe to Play Fund, provides grants up to £25,000 to help make football facilities more inclusive, safe and welcoming for women and girls. You can apply for up to 75% of your total project costs and you must provide match funding of at least 25%.
The funding can be used for improvements such as signage, external lighting/CCTV, toilets, shower improvements, baby change and breastfeeding facilities, changing room improvements and clubhouse improvements.
Applications can be made by not-for-profit football clubs, voluntary groups, local authorities, County FAs, professional club community organisations, educational establishments providing facilities for the community, registered charities, not-for-profit companies, companies limited by guarantee, CICs and other social enterprises. You must have a development plan for women’s and girls’ football at your site and engage with the FA’s Equal Game programme.
