Better Youth Spaces

Youth organisations providing services for young people in Torbay will be eligible to apply for a grant from the new Better Youth Spaces fund. Torbay is one of the 42 areas in England that are eligible for the funding.

Capital grants of £5,000 to £100,000 are available. These can be used for equipment, small refurbishments and other capital projects to help youth organisations to better support the young people they work with. The project must meet at least one of the fund objectives:

  • improving the reach of activities provided
  • improving the safety of existing youth facilities
  • improving the youth sector’s capacity and quality to deliver a range of enrichment activities
  • funding priority areas on the basis of youth need
  • improving the financial sustainability of youth facilities

Applications will be accepted from the following types of not-for-profit organisations: registered charities; not-for-profit companies; local authorities; uniformed organisations; and Community Benefit Societies. You must be working with children and young people, and at least 50% of provision is for children/ young people. Torbay is the only eligible area within Devon.
