The Reach for the Sky Challenge Fund aims to raise the profile of aviation careers and remove barriers to access, so that the sector can build a workforce fit for the future. It is a joint initiative of the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority.
There is a total of £750,000 available to support not-for-profit schemes that provide an entry point for young people from underprivileged backgrounds or under-represented groups into the aviation/aerospace industry.
The scheme will provide funding for outreach projects that:
- inspire the next generation of aviation professionals, championing the opportunities available within the sector
- reach individuals who would not otherwise be aware of opportunities available within the aviation sector
- have a broad impact by reaching and engaging multiple people
Projects can last between 3 and 12 months and should be delivered on a not-for-profit basis. One-off events will also be considered.
