The aim of this competition is to conduct extended field trials to evaluate and enhance any emerging technological solution focused on helping Local Authorities in the UK to meet their net zero ambitions. The idea is that this will provide insight and feedback from future users so that the product or service can be adapted ready for successful commercialisation.
The competition is open to any organisation with existing pre-commercial innovations which might support Local Authorities to deliver on their net zero plans. Contracts will be awarded to a single legal entity only but applicants are expected to work with their potential local authority customers. Successful projects are expected to show high levels of commitment from the local authorities involved, including an intention to purchase the solution if it can be shown to be effective.
Projects can range in size from £75,000 up to total eligible costs of £100,000, inclusive of VAT.
