The Kelly Family Charitable Trust provides grants for small charities that work with families that have one or more family members facing difficult issues. The Trust priorities activities that support families to work as a cohesive unit.
The Trust is interested in supporting three main areas of activity:
- interventions that support families and help them in ways that prevent the fracture of the family unit, eg practical family support, relationship counselling, mediation
- families where sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, alcohol abuse and drug abuse threaten the integrity of the family unit
- prisoners and their families, during and after the period of imprisonment
The grants are for registered charities working at a local or regional level. The funding can be for core costs or projects and can be used to cover revenue or capital costs. Most grants are for less than £5,000.
