Highway maintenance in Bideford

Grass cutting

Bideford Town Council have recently taken on two new employees to form their Maintenance Team, dealing with the increased number of tasks that are now being devolved to parish and town councils.

The Maintenance Team have proved invaluable, keeping the town clean and dealing with weeds. They now have a new jet washer which has been used to clean street furniture and has provided much-needed versatility.

The Team have also taken on a large section of grass cutting and a new Flymo grass cutter has been essential when having to work in areas that include banks and uneven surfaces.

Both these invaluable items were purchased with the Highway Maintenance Community Enhancement grant funding from Devon County Council.
